Promote: Communicate About Your Event

Once you have the support of your community and have planned the event you will host (see activity ideas if needed), look within your community to identify communication tools to promote your event. Communication tools are newsletters, email groups, memos, church bulletins or venues for handing out flyers that can assist you in getting the word out to your community.

Contact the communication tools in your community to see how best to submit your event information. Don't forget to include the WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, WHY of the event in your communication piece. It is also important to list a contact name and phone number/email for people to contact in case they have questions.
